Audubon Society hosts program on Hawk Ridge
The Upper Hiawatha Valley Audubon Chapter of Red Wing will host a program on "The Beauty and Birds of Hawk Ridge" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the Red Wing Conservation Club, 1010 E. Fifth St.
One of nature's most remarkable spectacles can be witnessed each fall at the Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve in Duluth, Minn. Migrating birds, originating from summer breeding areas as far north as the arctic and with wintering destinations as far south as points in South America, concentrate in impressive numbers at the western tip of Lake Superior. Join Executive Director Janelle Long to learn about the history, bird conservation work, and inspiring stories of this yearly event.
The program is open to the public.
