Boys Hockey: Wingers open season 0-2

A trip north to start the season resulted in two losses for Red Wing. The Wingers fell 6-3 to Eveleth-Gilbert on Friday, followed by a 5-3 loss to Duluth Denfeld on Saturday.

On Friday, the Golden Bears held a 2-1 lead heading into the third period, but pulled away with four goals over the final 18 minutes.

Cam Blue had two of Red Wing's two goals, with Jack Maroushek also getting on the board with a goal and an assist. Noah Bolland also had an assist. Winger goalie Zach Harding made 27 saves.

Saturday was similar, but the Hunters came from behind to get the win. Red Wing led 2-1, but Denfeld netted four goals in the second period.
