Area Girls Soccer Briefs: PIZM, Lake City searching for first win

Pine Island/Zumbrota-Mazeppa is still searching for its first win after getting shut out by Plainview-Elgin-Millville on Thursday, 3-0.

The Bulldogs got goals from three different players, with Madison McCullough, Sophie Wodele and Macy Holtz each finding the back of the net.

For the Wildcats, goalkeeper Roslind Anderson made 19 saves in the loss.

PIZM (0-4) will try to get its first win on Tuesday against Lake City in Pine Island.

Kasson-Mantorville 11, Lake City 0

MaKayla Griffin and Gwen Dole both finished with three goals for Kasson-Mantorville, helping the KoMets to an 11-0 Hiawatha Valley League win over Lake City on Thursday.

The Tigers’ goalkeeper, Carley Platte, came up with 14 saves in the loss.

In three games this year, Lake City has been outscored 27-0.

On Tuesday, the Tigers (0-3) will face Pine Island/Zumbrota-Mazeppa.
