Softball: Randolph, Goodhue split at Rockets' invite

Megan Erickson hit a walk-off home run for Randolph on Saturday, giving the Rockets a 7-5 win over Goodhue in the first game of the Randolph Invitational. Blooming Prairie would hand the Rockets their second loss of the season in Game 2, a 3-2 win for the Awesome Blossoms.

Erickson finished 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Game 1, and Morgyn Otte added three hits to her two-inning victory in the circle that yielded no hits and three strikeouts.

Kate Opsahl had three hits for the Wildcats, while Emily Benrud and Abbe Doerhoefer each had two RBI. Doerhoefer, who got the loss, gave up five earned runs on eight hits and four walks, but did have nine strikeouts.

Otte took the loss against Blooming Prairie, going six innings and striking out seven with one walk and six hits allowed. Erickson, Mackenna Otte and Meredith Taylor each went 1-for-3.

Goodhue beat Blooming Prairie in the third game, 7-5, with Doerhoefer picking up the win. Katie Pearson had two hits and two RBI to lead the Wildcats offense.
