Baseball: Lake City edges out Goodhue

Both teams had a six-run inning, but Lake City managed to outscore Goodhue 3-2 over the other seven frames to take the Hiawatha Valley League tilt, 9-8, on Thursday.

Luke Meincke had three RBI for the Tigers, with Tyler Pribyl adding two. Josh Brown had a solo home run. Thomas Lewis got the win, allowing eight runs (six earned) on 11 hits and a trio of walks over 5 2/3 innings.

Carter Danielson went 3-for-3 for the Wildcats with Nick Thomforde, Cooper Davidson and Casey Ryan each coming away with a pair of hits. Davidson was saddled with the loss, allowing three runs, all earned, over four innings.
