Baseball: Randolph sweeps Houston

Randolph opened its home doubleheader against Houston with an 11-1 win, then closed the evening with a 15-6 victory.

The Rockets scored once in the first inning, five times in the second and then ended Game 1 with five more in the fifth. Matt Weber had one hit, a pair of walks and four RBI for Randolph, with Matt Olson scoring three times. Nick Drinken got the win, throwing three innings of three-hit ball with one unearned run and two strikeouts.

In Game 2, the Rockets led 5-0 after one, then exploded for eight in the sixth to get the sweep. Dane Ehleringer and Will Christianson both had three RBI in the nightcap, and Ehleringer got the win going four innings. Houston managed two earned runs over that span on five walks and two hits, but Ehleringer struck out four.

On Saturday, Randolph heads to Goodhue.
