Wrestling: Ellsworth seventh at Chaska/Chanhassen
The Ellsworth wrestling team crossed state lines on Saturday, placing seventh in the Chaska/Chanhassen Ethan Herman Memorial Invitational. The Panthers finished the afternoon with 87 points while Owatonna (188), Chaska/Chanhassen (151.5), Minnetonka (127), Wayzata (127) and Buffalo (115) made up the top five.
Ellsworth's top competitor at the meet was Jared Lansing, who reached the 126-pound finals before losing an 8-6 decision to Hopkins' Nate Johnson. Jared Toenjes (106 pounds) and Cedric Kosnopfal (152) each placed third, and Sawyer Hamilton (113), Owen Matzek (120) and Wyatt Hines (132) each placed fourth.
Ellsworth is in Rochester for a two-day tournament starting on Friday.
