Ellsworth golfers win first MBC meet

DURAND - The Ellsworth High School boys' golf team won its first Middle Border Conference meet since 2009 and first since the current meet format was adopted in 2011 Monday at Rolling Greens Golf Course.

The Panthers tied for first with Osceola and New Richmond with nine-hole scores of 167. It was Ellsworth's lowest score of the season so far.

EHS by meet medalist Chrystian Kulow, who shot a 38. Teammate Bryce Stein finished second with a 39.

Prescott finished sixth in the meet with a score of 196. The Cardinals' best score came from Bailey Benck with a 46.

Ellsworth's JV team also took first yesterday in a league meet at the Ellsworth Country Club. The Panthers shot 200 and were led by Tanner Manore and Matthew Campbell's scores of 47.

The next MBC meet is scheduled for Friday in New Richmond.
