Baseball: Cannon Falls cruises past Lake City

A four-run first inning was all Cannon Falls needed Monday against Lake City. But the Bombers added more – a bunch more – in a 12-3 rout of Lake City.

Cannon Falls added a run in the second, four more in the third, and three in the fourth all while keeping the Tigers to the two runs they scored in the first, save for a single run in the fifth.

Brock Peterson led the charge for Cannon Falls, finishing 3-for-3 with three RBI. Taylor Carlson also had three hits, adding an RBI while Hunter Blakeslee, Peter Haggerty and Garrett Beach each had two hits for the Bombers.

Carlson also got the win, going five innings and giving up three runs on three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts.

Andrew Schmidt had three of Lake City’s four hits with Reid Lundell accounting for the other one. Michael Noll took the loss, giving up nine runs on 10 hits and three walks in 2 1/3 innings.
