Softball: Cannon Falls rolls by Goodhue

Cannon Falls got to bat in the top of the fifth inning, but the Bombers didn’t need to do any more damage in a 14-4 victory over Goodhue Monday afternoon.

Lexie Kennedy led the Wildcats, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored while teammate Ashley Thompson finished 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Laurie Pearson started the game for Goodhue, pitching four innings and giving up all 14 runs, nine earned, on nine hits, five walks and two hit batters with three strikeouts.

“They hit the ball well tonight,” said Goodhue head coach Chris Irvin. “We didn’t field the ball all that well, but they hit the ball hard.”

The Wildcats (3-8) head to Randolph Tuesday while the Bombers are slated to visit Pine Island Wednesday afternoon.
