Baseball: Panthers rout Osceola

An 11-hit outburst, led by Dennis Schutz, and a one-hit outing from pitcher Brady Yanish helped second-ranked (Division 2) Ellsworth cruise to an 11-1 win in five innings over Osceola Tuesday in Hager City.

In four innings of work, Yanish struck out eight against the visiting Chieftains. Yanish also aided his cause at the plate, driving in a pair of runs.

Schutz led the Panthers’ offense with three hits and drove in two runs. Logan Armstrong and Spencer Schroeder each had a pair of hits, with Schroeder tallying two RBI in the 10-run victory.

Ellsworth (7-0) returns to the field Friday at Amery.
