Track and Field: Bombers host invitational

The Cannon Falls track and field teams had the home cooking Saturday, but two visiting teams left town with first-place finishes. The Bomber girls placed third with 118 points, well behind first place Belle Plaine/Holy Family Catholic (255), and runner-up St. Croix Lutheran (150). The Cannon Falls boys came in fourth with 43 points as St. Croix Lutheran (195) edged BP/HFC (182) for the title.

Bomber Katherine Hoffman won the girls 1,600-meter run with a time of 5 minutes, 48.70 seconds to take home the only blue ribbon for host Cannon Falls.

Kelsie Beissel placed third in the 100 in 14.41, Danielle Hansen was third in the 400 with a time of 1:08.72, and Mia Holscher took fourth in the 800 in 2:42.36.

Brooke Hogan took down the 100 hurdles in 17.95, good for second place, then tackled the 300 hurdles in 51.39, also a second-place time.

Kelsie Beissel, Madasyn Hofstedt, Grace Hall and Alana Robinson captured third in the 400 relay in 55.05 as Hansen, Hoffman, Payton Cooper and Brooke Hogan took third in the 1,600 relay with a time of 4:35.02. Hoffman, Amanda Wulf, Annika Thomley and Cooper had a second-place run of 11:14.38 in the 3,200 relay.

Liara Jacobsen was the top Bomber in the pole vault with a leap of 6 feet, 6 inches, while Hofstedt took second in the long jump with a best of 14-10.75.

Allison Egge discus throw of 94-03 was good for second.

Karl Ritzman took fourth in the 1,600 with a run of 5:13.49. The 400 relay team also took fourth as Zacheri Holes, Luke Dubells, Beau Rueger and Gus Foss finished in 48.45.

Kyler Banks, Dubells, Rueger and Chase Jacobsen placed third in the 1,600 relay in 3:53.99 while Ritzman, Thor Hanson, Cole Grosland and Connor Rohr finished fourth in the 3,200 relay in 9:24.74.

Alex Bultena also had a fourth-place result in the high jump going 5-6 while Rueger took to the sand with a triple jump of 39-5.75, good for third.
