Girls Basketball: Goodhue nets 20th win

For the fifth straight season, Goodhue has reached the 20-win plateau as the fourth-ranked (1A) Wildcats easily disposed of Triton 64-27 for a Hiawatha Valley League victory Tuesday in Dodge Center.

“It was a pretty good effort from start to finish for us,” said Goodhue head coach Josh Wieme. “Getting 20 wins for the fifth year in a row is a pretty neat accomplishment for our gals.”

Pacing the Wildcats’ efforts was Mikayla Miller, who had 23 points and five assists. Shelby Hinsch added 14 points and eight rebounds, and Rachel Watson tallied six points and four rebounds off the bench.

Up 37-14 at halftime, Goodhue held the Cobras without a double-digit scorer.

The Wildcats (20-5, 13-4 HVL) end the regular season Friday at home against Zumbrota-Mazeppa.
