Boys Basketball: Lake City closes with a win

Lake City continued its tear through the second half of the season Friday with a 73-45 dismantling of Hiawatha Valley League foe Triton.

Jesse Oliver scored 19 points on 7-of-7 shooting, including a 5-of-5 night on 3-pointers. Reid Lundell was right behind Oliver with 18 points and seven rebounds while Brady Kuchinka added 12 points, eight rebounds, five steals and three assists. Cory Dick had eight points, eight rebounds and four steals for the Tigers, who led 40-26 at half.

The Tigers (15-9 overall, 11-7 HVL) finished second in the HVL Blue, and were winners of 13 of their last 15 games with an average margin of victory of 19.7 points.

Lake City will next play Thursday in the Section 1AA playoffs. Seeding will take place Saturday.
