Boys Basketball: Bombers blast Cougars on Senior Night

Very little went wrong for Cannon Falls Tuesday night as the Bombers cruised to a 74-35 Hiawatha Valley League victory over Zumbrota-Mazeppa.

Brock Peterson led Cannon Falls with 15 points while Jordan Lundell chipped in with 11, and Alex Bultena added 11 points and three steals. Hunter Johnson also had double-digit points with 10 to go along with three steals and three assists.

The Bombers led 40-16 at half, and hit 71 percent of their shots from the field, including 8 of 11 on 3-pointers. Austin Noble led Cannon Falls with five rebounds.

“We played well defensively. It was Senior Night, and we’re senior dominated, so things went well,” said Cannon Falls head coach Josh Davisson.

The Bombers (17-8 overall, 14-3 HVL), who have clinched the Blue Division title, close out the regular season Monday at Kenyon-Wanamingo before playing in the HVL championship game Monday at the Gold Division winner at 7 p.m. The Cougars head to Dodge Center to play Triton on Thursday.
