Girls Basketball: Goodhue holds on to beat Pine Island

Fourth-ranked (1A) Goodhue managed to grind out a 43-38 Hiawatha Valley League victory over Pine Island Friday in Pine Island.

Shelby Hinsch moved the ball effectively for the Wildcats, finishing with 10 points and four assists. Mikayla Miller had a team-high 11 points in the victory.

The Panthers’ Nikki Fokken had a game-high 19 points in the loss, and was the only Pine Island player in double digits.

Goodhue (18-4, 11-3) plays host to second-ranked (2A) Kenyon-Wanamingo Tuesday in Goodhue.
