Goodhue ended the regular season on a high note, picking up a pair of wins at its home triangular on Friday. The Wildcats came away with a 60-24 win against Triton in the first match, then completed the night with a 44-25 victory against Pine Island.

It took less than 30 minutes for Goodhue to put away Triton as all the matches were decided by pinfall or forfeit. For the Wildcats, Bailee O’Reilly (126 pounds), Logan Breuer (145), and Josh Dahling (heavyweight) each won via pinfall, with O’Reilly picking up the quickest pinfall at 1 minute, 9 seconds.

After dropping the first match against Pine Island, Goodhue won the next five matches to take a commanding 20-3 lead. During that span, Kaleb O’Reilly (120 pounds) won by pin, and Bailee O’Reilly (126) and Matthew Lexvold (132) each won via major decision. Josh Dahling secured another pinfall victory at heavyweight over Alex Aarsvold at 2:47.

With the regular season out of the way, the Wildcats turn their attention to the Section 1A team tournament, set to start on Feb. 13 and ending on Feb. 15 at Mayo Civic Center in Rochester. The Section 1A individual tournament begins on Feb. 21-22, also at the Mayo Civic Center.
