Wrestling: Cougars cruise in regular-season finale

In its final dual of the regular season, Zumbrota-Mazeppa nearly ran the table at La Crescent, blowing out the Lancers 67-6.

Joey Majerus (120 pounds), Hunter Prodzinski (182) and Seth Tupper (195) all won by fall for the Cougars, who lost just one match, at 126. Z-M received 30 points on five forfeits with Hayden Stensland (106), Freedom Hunt (145) and Cody Heitman (152) all winning by major decision. Andrew Krauss (132) and Devin Manzy (160) won by decision.

The Cougars, who just missed the top 12 in the most-recent Class A poll, will enter the postseason as a favorite to land in the Section 1A final four. Z-M will likely host a first-round dual Thursday and, with a win, head to the Mayo Civic Center Rochester Saturday, Feb. 15 for the team semifinals and finals. The individual section tournament runs Feb. 21-22.
