Boys Basketball: Bombers take down rival Tigers

In a key Hiawatha Valley League showdown, Cannon Falls held off Lake City 65-60 Friday night.

Hunter Johnson recalled some of his fall-ball skills, finding all the right passing lanes to the tune of 10 assists to go along with seven points and three steals.

Brock Peterson had 22 points and five rebounds for the Bombers who led 31-28 at halftime.

Jordan Lundell (14) and Alex Bultena (16) both scored in double figures as well. Austin Noble chipped in four points and a team-high 12 rebounds.

Brady Kuchinka led the Tigers with 18 points, grabbing four rebounds in the process. Reid Lundell added 13 points, five assists and four rebounds. Eli Custer threw in eight points and 10 rebounds while Jesse Oliver finished with 15 points and four rebounds.

Cannon Falls (13-8 overall, 10-3 HVL) will visit Goodhue Monday while Lake City (11-9, 8-7) heads to Zumbrota-Mazeppa the same day.
