Girls Basketball: Goodhue trounces Cannon Falls

Jumping ahead 43-14 by halftime, Goodhue’s defense took charge for a convincing 75-30 Hiawatha Valley League win against Cannon Falls Friday in Goodhue. 

As a team, the Wildcats came up with 24 steals and held the Bombers without a double-digit scorer. Mikayla Miller scored a game-high 21 points with six rebounds, four assists and four steals, and Shelby Hinsch tallied 17 points and eight boards. Sydney Lodermeier, Rachel Watson and Megan Ryan combined to score 24 points off the bench.

Courtney Woodcock finished with eight points and eight rebounds for Cannon Falls.

Goodhue (11-3, 4-2 HVL) has a key conference matchup at 3 p.m. today against Pine Island in Goodhue. Cannon Falls (2-11, 0-8 HVL) returns home Tuesday against Triton.
