Girls Basketball: Goodhue fends off Lake City

Goodhue led 26-16 after the first half and never relented, beating Lake City 50-35 for a Hiawatha Valley League victory Friday in Lake City.

Leading the Wildcats’ efforts was senior guard Mikayla Miller, who had a game-high 21 points. Shelby Hinsch chipped in with 12 in the victory.

The Tigers’ only double-digit scorer was Breanna Gates, who finished with 10. The loss snapped the team’s three-game win streak.

Fourth-ranked (1A) Goodhue (10-3, 4-2 HVL) heads to La Crescent on Tuesday. Lake City (6-5, 2-4 HVL) heads to Triton on Tuesday.
