Boys Basketball: Cougars caged by K-M

Jacob Ugland and Ellis Hirman combined for 31 points, but it was not enough to put Zumbrota-Mazeppa past Kasson-Mantorville on Friday as the KoMets won the Hiawatha Valley League matchup 83-58 in Kasson.

Ugland was 6 of 11 shooting to finish with a team-high 16 points. Hirman tallied a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Kurt Gadient rounded out the Cougars’ effort with eight points, six rebounds and three steals.

Braxton Raymond was on fire from 3-point range, hitting seven from beyond the arc to finish with a game-high 23 points.

Z-M (3-9, 1-7 HVL) hosts Pine Island on Tuesday.
