Boys Basketball: Goodhue holds off Rochester Lourdes
Goodhue had little trouble getting the ball in the hoop on Friday, and the Wildcats needed every bucket to come away with a 48-47 Hiawatha Valley League win over Rochester Lourdes in Goodhue.
As a team, Goodhue shot 62 percent from the field, including 73 percent (17 of 23) from 2-point range.
With the victory, the Wildcats have won their sixth straight after starting the season 1-4.
Leading the Goodhue charge was Riley Augustine, who scored 13 points on 6 of 9 shooting. He also had five rebounds, two steals and two assists. Riley Bollum had 12 points and two steals, and Tyler Schumacher finished with 11 points, four rebounds and a pair of steals.
The Wildcats (7-4, 3-4 HVL) are on the road Tuesday for a conference game against Pine Island.
