Despite a slow first half, Zumbrota-Mazeppa managed to stay tied with Stewartville, 27-27, heading into halftime.

The Cougars got their act together in the second half, pulling away with a 62-42 Hiawatha Valley League road victory on Tuesday.

Carley Henning led all scorers with 22 points, while Tayler Mort added 13, Alyssa Quam had 10 and Kalli Paukert put in eight in the victory. As a team, the Cougars shot 47 percent, their highest percentage of the young season.
