Wrestling: Wildcats place seventh at Winona

Finishing with 102 points, the Goodhue wrestling team placed seventh at the Winona Invitational Saturday.

Kasson-Mantorville won the team title with 198.5 points, followed by Dover-Eyota (180), Chatfield (171), Lewiston-Altura/Rushford-Peterson (158) and Wabasha-Kellogg.

Goodhue’s Joel Gadient had the team’s top finish, going 2-1 on the way to a second-place finish at 120 pounds. Gadient went on to lose to Rochester John Marshall’s Logan Saltou in a 12-5 decision. Bailee O’Reilly (126) and Charles Dahling (182) each finished in third place of their respective weights. O’Reilly beat Morgan Mueller of Onalaska (Wis.) in a 6-0 decision, and Dahling won by pinfall over Wabasha-Kellogg’s Paul Novak.

The Wildcats return to the mat Friday in a triangular at Stewartville.
