Boys Basketball: Goodhue's offense sputters in loss to Hayfield

Tyler Schumacher scored 14 points on 60 percent shooting, but the Goodhue boys basketball team could not get another scorer to post more than four points in a 47-30 loss to Hayfield Friday night.

Schumacher hit 2 of 3 3-pointers, and missed just three other shots. Alex Thomforde scored four points as the second-leading scorer for the Wildcats. Thomforde scored all of his points from the free-throw line.

Jeremy Stuart led the Vikings, and the game, with 16 points.

Austin Buck led the Wildcats with five rebounds, including four defensive boards. Thomforde’s two assists were a team high, while Riley Augustine’s three steals were a team best.

Goodhue (0-2) will host Bethlehem Academy Tuesday, then visit Stewartville Friday. Both games are scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
