Girls Tennis: Ellsworth faces no trouble against Bloomer

Dominant performances, from top to bottom, lifted the Ellsworth girls tennis team to a 7-0 win over Bloomer Tuesday afternoon.

Just one match, at No. 2 singles, went the three-set distance. Megan Stress overcame a first-set loss to beat Nicole Johnson 0-6, 6-4, 10-8.

As for the rest of the Panthers, it was much a much smoother day. Jordan Olson cruised over Sharlae Aasen 6-0, 6-1 while Kali Schaar held on to beat Katie Michels 6-1, 7-5. Mariah Vogel closed out the singles matches with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Morgan Stone.

In the doubles matches, Rochelle Swieg, Alexis Linder eased past Katie Brooke and Taylor Thur 6-4, 6-3, and Kenzie Anderson and Marissa Schumaker got by Jessica Jones and Rochelle Jones. Allyson Stoetzel and Kendra Thoen easily beat Cassie Putney and Madison Catchot 6-1, 6-1.

The Panthers will face Mondovi, on the road, Thursday.
