Volleyball: Tigers fall in straight sets to Lourdes

Lake City put up a fight against Rochester Lourdes on Thursday, playing tight in the first and third sets. Ultimately, the Eagles proved to be too much for the young Tigers, pulling away with a three-set Hiawatha Valley League victory, 25-19, 25-15, 25-20, in Lake City.

Madi Green was Lake City’s top hitter with 10 kills, while Daynalyn Jostock added six kills and four ace serves in the loss. Breanna Gates had a team-high 14 digs.

For Lourdes, Gabby Williams finished with a team-best seven kills, and Rosemary Rogers finished with nine digs and four ace serves. Sara Hobday was a big factor at the net with six kills and five ace blocks.

Looking to get into the win column, the Tigers (0-4, 0-2 HVL) host Zumbrota-Mazeppa on Tuesday.
