Boys Soccer: Byron holds off Lake City

Tied 1-1 at the 59th minute, Byron’s Noah Poling scooped up a rebound and put in the game-winning goal to help the Bears past Lake City 2-1 Tuesday in Byron.

At the 27th minute, Byron took a 1-0 lead thanks to a cross from Ben Leonhardi that found Conner Meine for the goal.

Down after the first half, the Tigers put on the pressure and finally got on the scoreboard at the 55th minute on a goal by Elijah Kroll, who put the ball into the corner of the net.

Ben Linder finished with 14 saves for Lake City in the loss.

The Tigers head to Plainview-Elgin-Millville on Thursday.
