Girls Basketball: Wingers leave Winona with a win
A balanced offensive attack, and a stingy defense, gave Red Wing a 58-43 victory over Winona on Saturday.
The Wingers got 11 points from Dani Deming, 10 from Abi Deming, nine from Kyli Nelson and eight from Lindsay Reps. Tayzha Buck had a team-high nine rebounds and five assists. Of Red Wing's 28 made field goals, 25 came on assists.
Brittin Winter had 13 points for the Winhawks, who scored just 18 points in the first half and shot 33 percent for the game. The Wingers shot 50 percent from the field.
Red Wing (19-5, 15-5 Big Nine) heads to Mankato West on Tuesday, and then closes the regular season on Friday at home against Rochester Mayo.
