Girls Basketball: Red Wing gets back in the win column
Back in action for the first time in eight days, 10th-ranked (Class AAA) Red Wing got back in the win column Friday with a 60-40 Big Nine Conference victory over Rochester Century.
Helping the Wingers build a 35-22 rebound advantage, Abi Deming roped in 14 rebounds, including 10 on the offensive end, to go with seven points. She also had three steals.
Tayzha Buck came up with 13 points to go with four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Lindsay Reps also had 13 points, four rebounds and three assists, and Kyli Nelson hit a team-high three 3-pointers for nine points along with three steals.
In total, nine different players scored for the Wingers on Friday.
Limited to just 14 first-half points, the Panthers got a game-high 24 points from Kiara Lindsey.
Red Wing (12-3, 9-3 Big Nine) closes out its four-game road trip Tuesday at Rochester John Marshall before returning home Thursday, Feb. 1 against Winona.
