Amateur Baseball: Offense explodes for Aces win over Randolph
Red Wing scored enough through three innings to beat Randolph on Sunday, but the Aces added more, much more, to blowout the Railcats, 15-3.
Dixon Irwin and Justin Cunningham each drove in three runs, and Adam Thygesen and Jimmy Bohmbach had two RBI each as Red Wing scored twice in the second and third innings, and five times in the fifth and ninth.
Sam Palmatier picked up the victory, going five innings on the mound. Palmatier allwoed three earned runs on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Brady Schroeder pitched for three innings, and Isaac Oeltjen threw the ninth.
Drew Weidner gave up 12 runs on 10 hits and six walks, but four Randolph errors led to just eight of the Aces' 15 runs being earned.
Red Wing (2-1) hosts Hampton on Sunday.
