With no scoring through 10 innings, Red Wing and Jordan finally erased the zeroes on the scoreboard in the 11th inning. But it was the Brewers who came out on top, 2-1, handing the Aces their first loss in the first game of the season.

Jordan’s Trent Simek singled home Joe Lucas to get the scoring started. The next batter, Alex Beckman, also singled, scoring Scott Hollingsworth to give the Brewers a 2-0 lead.

Red Wing answered with Dave Jenson’s one-out double, which was followed by a groundout that pushed Jenson to third.

Alex Quiding then hit a two-out double to score Jenson, and force pitcher Dillon Lee off the mound.

After a Tyler Goering walk, Jorgen Karlsrud grounded out to pitcher Joe Lucas to end the game in the Brewers’ favor.

Red Wing managed eight hits in the game, led by Adam Thygesen’s 2-for-4 performance. Six other Aces had one hit in the game.

Justin Cunningham threw 10 innings for Red Wing, allowing seven hits and striking out four. Josh Thygesen took the loss, pitching one inning and allowing two earned runs on five hits.

Red Wing (0-1) is scheduled to hit the road for the first time this season Sunday for a 2 p.m. game against Hampton.
