Amateur Baseball: Cannon Falls clips Dundas

Helped by a strong relief effort by Cory Hedeen, Cannon Falls came away with a 7-5 Classic Cannon Valley League road victory Sunday against Dundas. 

After starting pitcher Keith Meyers gave up five runs and 12 hits in five-plus innings, Hedeen came in and allowed just two hits, zero walks and zero runs in four innings of work. 

On offense, Rich Burr was 4-for-5 with three RBI, and Nate Otto was 2-for-4 with three runs and a double. Josh Harrison added three hits and a run scored, and Luke Winchell picked up two hits, two runs and an RBI in the Bears’ victory. 

The Dukes’ top hitter was Carson Jones, who was 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI.

Cannon Falls (11-7, 6-6 CCVL) hosts a trio of home games this week, with Prescott today, Lake City on Thursday and Veseli on Friday.
