Amateur Baseball: Miesville nabs win over Hastings

In a Highway 61 battle, Miesville won its fifth straight game with a 11-6 Classic Cannon Valley League game over Hastings Sunday at Jack Ruhr Field in Miesville. 

Alex LaShomb had four of the Mudhens’ 15 hits, going 4-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. David Olson was 1-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored, and Matt Van Der Bosch tacked on one hit, three runs and an RBI.

The Hawks’ top hitter was Deryk Marks, who went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, three RBI and two runs scored.

Miesville played host to River Falls Tuesday before heading to Dundas for a Section 1B matchup today.


Miesville 13, Randolph 1 (7 inn.)

Scoring five runs in the seventh inning, Miesville made short work of Randolph, blowing away the Railcats in a 13-1 seven-inning Classic Cannon Valley League victory Friday at Jack Ruhr Field.

Charles Bruchu, David Olson and Colin Keefe each finished with two hits apiece, with Olson chipping in with a double and three RBI. Andrew Werner got the complete-game victory for the Mudhens, striking out 12 in the win.
