Football: Bombers drop final home game

Hunter Johnson passed for 276 yards and threw four touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough as Cannon Falls lost the SFA Red Division game at home.

Johnson completed three touchdown passes to Jordan Lundell (14, 44 and 7 yards) and one to Bailey Miller (23 yards) and was 17 of 32. He also carried the ball 11 times for 23 yards. Lundell finished with seven catches for 140 receiving yards, while teammate Brock Peterson hauled in six passes for 94 yards.

On defense, Sterling Carlson led the Bombers with 14 tackles, while teammate Nate Melhouse had 11.

“We came up short again tonight, but it wasn’t from lack of effort,” Cannon Falls coach Josh Hofstedt said. “We made a lot of big plays.”

Cannon Falls (1-5, Red, 2-5 overall) plays at Rochester Lourdes on Wednesday.
