Cross Country: Goodhue girls 10th, girls 11th in Chatfield

Running in the Chatfield Invitational Tuesday at Chosen Valley Country Club, the Goodhue girls cross-country team took 10th in the 11-team race with a team time of 100 minutes, 32.5 seconds.

The Wildcats’ top runner was Cassandra Voth, who placed 11th with a time of 17:38.3, with a pace of 7:06. Madison Schafer (19:27.3) took 40th, Rachel Watson (20:24.4) was 56th, Brooke Kehren (21:25.9) was 69th, and Haley Hinrichs (21:36.6) rounded out the team scoring in 72nd.

Plainview-Elgin-Millville won the girls’ team title with a combined time of 88:32.0, besting second-place Stewartville at 90:04.5. Stewartville’s Chrissy Lofgren was the top runner at the meet with a time of 16:14.2.


Ryan Alpers ran the top time for the young Goodhue boys squad, finishing in 28th with a time of 20:11.3.

As a team, the Wildcats finished in ninth place with a combined team time of 108:57.3.

Rounding out the team time was Joel Gadient (20:17.1) in 34th, Derek Alpers (20:40.2) in 44th, Ryan Gorman (23:21.3) in 79th and CJ Hahn (24:27.4) in 87th.

P-E-M wrapped up another team title, winning the boys’ meet with a time of 92:59.9. Lewiston-Altura/Rushford-Peterson placed second with 93:09.0, and also had the top runner as Austin O’Hare took first in 17:19.2.

Goodhue runs again Oct. 8 at the Plainview-Elgin-Millville invitational.
