Amateur Baseball: Red Wing rocks Rochester

Piling up six runs over the course of the fourth and fifth innings, the Red Wing Aces had no trouble putting away the Rochester Royals on Wednesday, coming away with a 7-3 victory in Rochester.

Batting from the leadoff spot, first baseman Zach Garner went 3-for-4 with two RBI, while Kyle Blahnik was 3-for-5 with a solo home run and three runs scored for Red Wing. Dave Jenso0n added three hits, including a double, an RBI and a run scored, and Tyler Goering was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run. The Aces finished with 13 total hits.

On the mound, Jordan Warren was awarded the win after going five innings and holding Rochester to six hits and one unearned run.

The Royals’ top hitter was Matt Stubbs, who was 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored.

The Aces (27-5) close out the regular season on Friday against Bay City at the Red Wing Athletic Field.
