Hubbers bounce back to beat St. Croix Falls

ELLSWORTH - The Ellsworth Hubbers baseball team bounced back quickly from a tough loss to Prescott Wednesday by beating St. Croix Falls Saturday evening 16-9 at Young Field.

The Hubbers' third baseman Scott DeWyre went 3-for-5 from the plate with a double and a team-leading six RBIs. Cody Holden hit a solo home run and first baseman Jeremiah Paulson belted a two-run homer.

Holden pitched six innings to get the win. Teammate Lance Murphy came on in relief to pitch the final three innings.

The Hubs' are 7-3 in the St. Croix Valley League, two games behind Prescott at 7-1.
