Softball: Lake City's losing skid continues
Lake City fell for the 15th straight game after a 12-0 five-inning Hiawatha Valley League loss at La Crescent on Thursday.
The Lancers limited the Tigers to just one hit: a single by Emily Cordes in the fifth inning.
"We hit the ball hard, just not in the right spots," said Lake City head coach Mike Johnson. "Everything we hit, they got to. They ran down the ball really well."
Morgan Armstrong finished 2-for-4 with two runs, and Sam Bauer tallied two hits, including a triple, for La Crescent. Sarah Duewachter rounded out the Lancers' offense, going 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
The Tigers close out the regular season at home Friday against Plainview-Elgin-Millville.
