Baseball: Ellsworth stays undefeated, knocks off Somerset

Trailing 3-0 after the top of the third inning, Ellsworth turned it on in the middle innings, scoring seven straight runs on the way to a 7-4 Middle Border Conference victrory over Somerset Thursday in Hager City.

Four of the Panthers' 10 hits went for extra bases, with Tyler Koller drilling a triple and Nick Taranto, James Georgakas and Chandler Flynn each hitting for doubles. Georgakas finished with three hits, while Taranto and Dan Giese each knocking a pair of hits.

On the mound, Isaac Hines struck out six for Ellsworth in the victory, and Logan Armstrong secured the game with a save.

The Panthers (9-0) travel to New Richmond on Friday.
