Letter: Camp to help boost children's safety
To the editor:
Parents, are you looking for something for your 9- or 10-year-old child to do? Dawnbreakers Kiwanis is having its annual all-day Safety Camp on June 14 at Minnesota State College Southeast.
Kids visit various stations where they learn to be safe around fire, water, poison, electricity, pets and wild animals. Other stations are bike and skate safety and personal safety.
Campers receive T-shirts, certificates, helmets, smoke alarms and a bag of miscellaneous items. We also have drawings for prizes including four bicycles.
Morning and afternoon snacks plus lunch will be provided. Where else can you get all of this for $15? There also are scholarships available. Call Community Education at 385-4565 to register — and to help keep your children safe.
