Letter: Phoenix serves delightful 'Dining Room'

To the Editor:

We saw a delightful play called "The Dining Room." Through multiple roving vignettes, there is a wonderful contrast established between the constant ideal of family and innocence and the inconstant characters fraught with inadequacies and disappointment. The characters' lives never seem to match up with their cherished memories. They remember times of simplicity and nobility and togetherness, but their lives fall glaringly short. In a time of continuous motion and change, "The Dining Room" calls us back to constancy.

Humorous and well acted, the play is definitely worth seeing. It's not something to bring the kids to, but a great time for adults. Thanks to the Phoenix theatre group for another great performance!
