Margo Irene Anderson, 65, Red Wing, MN
Beloved mother, grandmother and friend Margo Irene Anderson passed away on Saturday, January 6th at her daughter's home in St. Paul, MN, surrounded by her adoring family. She will be lovingly remembered and honored by her three children, Jennifer Maren (Peter Simmons) of St. Paul, Liz Carroll (Adam) of Richfield, and Patrick (Alysia) Horen of Red Wing, and will live on through her grandchildren Afton and Caileigh Horen, and Trey Carroll. She is preceded in death by her parents Gerald Anderson and Patricia (Swanson) Anderson. Gone far too soon, she will be missed by many.
Born in Los Angeles, CA, Margo spent her youth in California and Minnesota. She graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in teaching, and spent most of her life educating young children and families. Wherever she went, children were attracted to her loving energy. At the age of 63, she decided to pursue her Master's Degree in Special Education; and despite her cancer diagnosis, she graduated from Mankato State University in the spring of 2017.
Margo would say that her greatest accomplishment was her children and grandchildren. She was intensely proud of each of them, and was the grandmother every child dreams of. Her infectious laugh and eccentric personality made an impression on everyone she met.
A Celebration of Margo's Life will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, on Saturday, January 13th at 1pm, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Flowers can be sent to Christ Episcopal Church, 321 West Avenue, Red Wing, MN 55066.
For those unable to join us on Saturday, there will be a Visitation for Margo, her family and friends, on Friday, January 12th from 5-7pm, also at Christ Episcopal Church.
