Marcella (Raasch) Harfield, 84
Marcella (Raasch) Harfield, age 84, passed away at home surrounded by family Jan. 4, in Brentwood, Tenn., after a short battle with cancer.
She grew up near Mazeppa. Her family moved to Red Wing in 1949 and she graduated from Red Wing High School in 1950. On Jan. 1, 1955, she married Alfred Harfield at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Red Wing. He served in the U.S. Air Force and they lived in Guam prior to being stationed at several air bases in the United States. They lived in the Twin Cities after Als retirement. She was employed at Cooperative Power Co. for many years. They loved to travel and made many trips overseas and in this country. Reading and playing cards were some of her favorite hobbies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Leona Raasch; and brother, Calvin Raasch.
Survivors include her husband Alfred of 62 years; sons, Craig of Florida and Scott (Gail) of Rosemount; daughter, Melanie (Steve) Kamp of Brentwood; brother, Richard (Yvonne) Raasch of Red Wing; sister, Faye Hansen of Chisago City; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 7, at Faith Lutheran Church in Thompson Station, TN. Interment will be at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
