Hornucopia: A tribute to horns in the rock era
ZUMBROTA — The history of rock and pop music is filled with unforgettable hit-making, horn-driven groups from the '60s to the current era, and one Twin Cities band will be bringing that sound all back home. Enjoy the music of Hornucopia at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the State Theatre.
Hornucopia is a band of talented musicians and singers from the Twin Cities and upper Midwest area. Distinct from tribute bands that pay homage to a single group or style of music, Hornucopia pays tribute to many musical groups that feature substantial horn sections. It boasts a tight four-piece horn section and a four-piece rhythm section, plus three top-rated vocalists whose melodies and harmonies are inspiring and far-reaching.
Tower of Power, Chicago, Blood, Sweat and Tears, plus Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake and others are just some of the groups that Hornucopia's 11-member ensemble will salute in a singular tribute show that celebrates multiple genres of music.
Tickets are $28 in advance and $32 day of show, available through Crossings. To reserve tickets, visit www.crossingsatcarnegie.com, call 507-732- 7616 or stop in to Crossings at 320 East Ave., Zumbrota.
