Mary Jean (Anderson) Mueller

The last piece of Mary Jean (Anderson) Mueller was sewn into her lifes quilt on September 17, 2017. She passed away at home in Red Wing, MN surrounded by family. Mary was born November 4, 1936 in the small farming community of Fernald, IA. She was the youngest of Amos and Stella Andersons five children.

Mary and Ted (Ernst) Mueller were married December 1957. They started their family in Nevada, IA, eventually setting roots in Lakeville, MN. They also lived in Iron Mountain, MI and enjoyed time at their cabin in Park Falls, WI before retiring to Red Wing.

Mary had a great eye for fabric and color arrangements; she loved to sew and created beautiful quilts and garments that were treasured gifts of family and friends. Marys life was like the quilts she created, the many pieces representing the lives she touched or was touched by during her life; they were sewn together to reflect who she was. She also loved her gardens, golfing, traveling with Ted, and was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Red Wing. Her smile lit up any room and her laughter was her hallmark; Mary will be deeply missed.

Mary is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ted; three children Michael (Sue Clubb) Mueller, Julie (Steve) Theriault, and Susan Mueller; seven grandchildren Brodie (Breanne Anderson) Mueller, Stephanie (Matt Chaffee) Theriault, Jacob (Katie) Mueller, Jeffrey Theriault, Ariana (Max) Burmeister, Miciah Mueller, and Sadie Mueller; and five great-grandchildren Lilly, Nora, Tyler, Isaac, and one due in December.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Marley Anderson, Ruth Perkins, Josephine Heintz, and Allen Anderson.
