Boys Soccer: Wingers knock out Tigers in OT

Lake City managed to extend Monday’s non-conference match with Red Wing into overtime. But, the Wingers were able to win the game in overtime, 4-3.

Bryan Lopez and Macklin Maroushek led Red Wing in points with both tallying a goal and two assists. Jeyson Roque scored his team-leading sixth goal along with an assist, and Barrent Blaney found the back of the net in the Wingers’ victory.

John Rothering played 82 minutes in net for Red Wing, coming up with 10 saves. Keegyn McNamee chipped in for eight minutes, coming up with a pair of stops.

Statistics for Lake City were unavailable at press time.

The Wingers (2-9) are on the road this week with games at Owatonna Tuesday and Mankato West Thursday.


Cannon Falls 1, Red Wing 0

Keegan McNamee made 13 saves, but Red Wing failed to find the back of the net on 19 shots in a 1-0 loss to Cannon Falls on Saturday.

Jeyson Roque and Macklin Maroushek each had five shots on goal for the Wingers.
