Boys Soccer: Red Wing clips PIZM for first win

With a pair of goals from Jeyson Roque and a one-goal, one-assist afternoon from Macklin Maroushek, the Red Wing boys’ soccer team secured its first win Saturday with a 3-0 victory against Section 1A foe Pine Island/Zumbrota-Mazeppa.

Adding assists for Red Wing were Aidan Coyle and Erick Fuentes as the team put up 15 shots on goal. In the net, Wingers goalkeeper Keegyn McNamee stopped 15 shots en route to the shutout victory.

Wildcats goalie Max Smithers made seven saves. On offense, Rheis Jensen had three shots on goal while Daniel Krier put two shots on frame.

Red Wing (1-5) will play its next two games on the road, starting with Austin on Sept. 14.
