Area Volleyball: Bombers 2-2 at North invite

At North High School in St. Paul, the Cannon Falls volleyball finished at .500 with losses to Farmington (17-25, 25-23, 15-12) and Grand Rapids (25-17, 25-16) before winning a pair against Tartan (25-19, 27-25) and New Life Academy (25-19, 25-19).

Over the four games, Molly Bowen and Shayla Hustad finished with 20 kills, with 13 coming from Kara Loeschke and 12 via Olivia Thomley. Loeschke also facilitated the offense with a team-high 47 set assists, with Rachel Huseth adding 33. Tatum Pickar led the Bombers in digs (71) and ace serves (three), and Sara Twedt put the ball on the floor with eight blocks.

“(There was) good competition and improvement seen as the day went on,” said Cannon Falls head coach Melissa Huseth. “(I’m) proud of the effort on the court against some hard-hitting teams. Looking forward to the future with these girls.”

On Tuesday, the Bombers will face Zumbrota-Mazeppa in a Hiawatha Valley League contest.
